  'Paw Prints' Art Show to Benefit Pets
 

See more than 20 works of pet art by highly-regarded Gorge artists, and art from 82 aspiring 6th grade students.

Columbia Art Gallery in Hood River joins PROD (Promoting Responsible Ownership of Dogs), in bringing to the Gorge a series of art events featuring local pets.

The events are part of the Paw Prints art show, which opens at the Columbia Art Gallery on Friday, Nov. 3.  The public is invited to the artist reception, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.  The show continues through Nov. 26.

Literary Event

Noted author Megan McMorris from Portland (who used to be a Hood River Resident) will discusss the recent anthology she edited, Woman's Best Friend: Women Writers on the Dogs in Their Lives.

  A Christmas Carol
 


Opens Thanksgiving Weekend


CAST kicks off the holiday season with a new production of Charles Dickens’ holiday classic A Christmas Carol.  Focusing on Dickens’ powerful language, humor and warmth, this charming version by Christopher Schario simply and directly tells the story of the redemption of a human soul.

Opens the day after Thanksgiving

Plays on Friday and Saturday nights for three weekends at 7:30 p.m.:
Nov. 24 & 25; Dec. 1, 2, 8 & 9.

Sunday matinees on Nov. 26 and Dec. 3 at 2:00 p.m.

Art Show: Life's Abstractions

Opening on Halloween, an open group show of abstract art work in all mediums.  Join the First Thursday reception on Nov. 2nd from 5 - 7 p.m. Meet the artists, munch on appetizers and enjoy the show. Live music by Lew Jones on the acoustic guitar. Show continues through Nov. 18.
