Pacific Northwest Plein Air:  Sept 1- Oct 3

The Columbia Center for the Arts, in Hood River, OR, hosts its second annual plein-air painting and writing event, Pacific Northwest Plein Air 2006: Painting Outdoors from the Mountains to the Sea. 

The public is invited to the opening, which features an artist awards ceremony at 5:30 in the center’s gallery, and a special reading by the writers of their works, in the theater from 6 to 8. Wine and hors-de-oeuvres will be served in the gallery throughout the evening.

Our Town     Opens Sept. 22

A Pulitzer-Prize winning play about a small town.


Gorge actors Tom Penchoen and Gary Johnson narrate the story of daily life in a small town -- through love, marriage, and death.

Starring with them are other Gorge celebrities, including: Kirby Neumann-Rea, Lorre Chester-Rea, Mike Doke, Jan-veldhuisen Virk, Desiree Amyx-Mackintosh, Jeff Dellis, Jessica Metta, Delaney Read, and Anneke Virk.

Gorge Artists Open Studios

Calling All Artists

A new “Gorge Artists Open Studios” event will take place in mid April, 2007. A self guided tour, it will bring art lovers from the Portland metro area and from all over the region, for a weekend to visit local artists in their natural habitat.

Artists with accessible studios and high quality work are invited to apply to this juried event. Those accepted will be published in the Gorge Artists Open Studios Directory, with samples of their work in this full color publication. Total artists will be limited to 50 throughout the Gorge.
