Mid Columbia Middle & High School Juried Art Competition

The Dalles Art Center is seeking entries for the upcoming Mid Columbia Middle & High School Juried Art Competition. Sponsored by the Bank of Eastern Oregon & Kiwanis, the show dates are February 12 - March 1, 2008.

What's Eligible

Students interested in entering their work may pick up an entry form from The Dalles Art Center or through their school. Everyone is limited to one entry in the medium of their choice. Flat work must be ready to hang (please, no taped on string, it won’t hold for the duration of the show) and be neatly presented.

Who's Eligible

Students need to be in grades 6-12 and both reside and attend school in the mid-Columbia area to be eligible to enter their work.

Delivering Your Entry

Entries may be delivered to The Dalles Art Center between 11am-5pm, Tuesday –Saturday and must be received no later than February 9. Early delivery of entries is appreciated. There is no entry fee. There will be ribbons in many categories.

Closing Reception and Awards

A closing reception and awards ceremony will be held Saturday, March 1st from 3-4 pm. Voting for the “Peoples’ Choice” awards will continue for the duration of the show and winners will be announced at the reception. Cash awards, provided by Kiwanis, will be presented for “Best of Show”, “Judge’s Choice” and “Peoples’ Choice” at both the High School & Middle School levels.

The Dalles Art Center is located downtown in the historic Carnegie Library at 220 East Fourth Street, phone 541 296 4759. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 11am-5pm.
