Insight

January 11 - 27

Capture the Rapture of the Artist.

Beat the January fog-blues, come see a fun, “whack upside the head” show: diverse, intimate, and engaging.

The theme of the January Art Show at the Columbia Art Gallery is "Insight: New Year, New Works."

The 106 Gallery artists have been asked to exhibit their most recent new work that reflects the fun, joy, and beauty they feel in creating their art. The works represent the broad range of interests of the artists.

The show includes, but is not limited to:

  • Sculpture
  • Printmaking
  • Painting
  • Works in glass
  • Photography
  • Jewelry making
  • Weaving
  • Pottery
  • Mixed media.

This is a special type of show not done before in Hood River in terms of theme, number of participating artists, and range of work.

The show is curated by painter / printmaker / blueberry farmer Ted James. His artistic career has spanned sixty years, with museum shows and retrospectives of his work, curating of shows of others, and extensive writings and teaching on art, artists, and printmaking.

$1,500 in Prizes!!

A special directed anonymous grant has made possible both the awarding of $1,500 of prizes to artists, plus an expanded educational program for children in January.
