| The Foreigner |
|
An Inspired Comic Romp |
Winner of two Obie Awards and two Outer Critics Circle Awards as Best New American Play and Best Off-Broadway Production. An inspired comic romp, equal in inventive hilarity to the author's classic comedy The Nerd. Based on what the NY Post describes as a "devilishly clever idea," the play demonstrates what can happen when a group of devious characters must deal with a stranger who (they think) knows no English. |

| House of Flying Daggers |
|
This
film is part of the Columbia Center for the Arts
Film Series. |
|
Set in the Tang Dynasty of 859 A.D., government corruption was rampant, and the land was overrun with rebel armies. The most effective of the rebels is the notorious band of Robin Hood-like assassins known as House of Flying Daggers. Zhang’s film swirls with staggeringly beautiful photography, gravity-defying swordplay and delicate eroticism.

| Mother, sports enthusiast, popular art instructor at Columbia Center for the Arts, and good friend to so many. |
|
| Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family and friends of Christina Bockius. |

On Tuesday, December 9, our good friend and colleage Christina Bockius, had a kiteboarding accident near La Ventana, Mexico. She was flown to OHSU by med-evac airplane, but tragically, she never regained consciousness. She passed away on December 12.
Christina, who was born in Switzerland, spoke German, English, French, Italian and some Spanish. She was passionat about life and dearly loved by the many people in Hood River who knew her.
She will be greatly missed. |
