Meet the Funders

October 27; 8am - 4pm

Day Long Grant Workshop

A day-long workshop to help non-profits learn more about grant research, grant writing, and the funders who make the grants. We will have representatives from local funders as well as the 5 largest funders in the state - Meyer Trust, Murdock Trust, Ford Family Foundation, Oregon Community Foundation, and The Collins Foundation

Program

Beginning grant writers and seasoned pros know that planning and research are keys to getting funding for your program or project. In the morning of this day-long workshop, we are offering Breakout Sessions for novice and experienced grantwriters and a panel of local funders. The Breakouts will provide the chance to learn the basics or improve your skills. Then, in the afternoon, you can meet Program Officers from the largest foundations serving Oregon and receive direct feedback about your program ideas from the people who actually read your proposals.

Who's Coming

You will get to meet Program Officers from 5 of the largest foundations in our region, including:
• Erik Jacob, Ford Family Foundation
• Jeff Anderson, Oregon Community Foundation
• Kit Gillem, Murdock Charitable Trust
• Cindy Knowles, The Collins Foundation
• Kim Thomas, Meyer Memorial Trust

We will also have a panel of Gorge-focused funders including, among others:
• Hood River Lions Foundation
• United Way of the Columbia Gorge
• Mid-Columbia Economic Development District
• Mt. Hood Economic Alliance

Who should attend

If you are new to grantwriting; an experienced grantwriter who still has questions; an Executive Director, Program Manager, or Board Member who wants to make a connection with funders; or if you just want to get feedback on a proposal, this workshop is for you.
