The power to heal ...

Art Show. This powerful and reflective show features the works of 17 artists in a range of media. Artists were asked to interpret the concept of Art Heals — Birth to Death. Resulting intepretations are as varied as the number of artists.

Events. In addition to the art show, two days of events are planned. Events are aimed at getting people involved in a dialog about their personal well-being and the well-being of our communities overall.

Art Show Explores the Many Aspects of Healing

Art Heals is presented in partnership with Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital, without whose help the show would not have been possible.

Art Heals explores the many aspects of healing – physical, spiritual, emotional and more -- and has a special emphasis on engaging the community in dialog about these important issues.

You're Invited! The public is invited to attend the artist reception on Friday, March 6th from 6 to 8 pm. Complimentary appetizers will be provided. Beer and wine are also available.

17 area artists (listed below) are participating in the show by special invitation, and will be presenting art in a range of media throughout the month. Each piece in the show will represent the artist’s personal reflection on the theme of healing.

Providence Hood River — Youthful Art of Healing

A photo exhibit of Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital's Youthful Art of Healing project will be on display in the lobby of the gallery throughout the month. The display highlights the progress of children developing their art in the Youthful Art of Healing project. The project itself will be on permanent display inside the hospital's new 12th street expansion. Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital

Community Workshops and Forums

Event Schedule

On March 21 and 22, there will be series of community workshops and presentations, as well as a community forum facilitated by county commissioner Barbara Briggs. Experts in the community will share with residents their views on how well our community is doing on a number of “well being” dimensions, including: our economy, agriculture, public schools, relationships with one another, aging population, healthcare, and our community at large.

Opportunities for community dialog and involvement are built into all of the events planned.

Events are free!  All events are free and open to the public. People are welcome to come to all or part of the events. No registration is required.
