Annual Artistic Imperfections SALE
Two Days Only!
Saturday & Sunday, August 15 and 16

Columbia Art Gallery in Hood River will hold its annual Artistic Imperfections SALE on Saturday, August 15th and Sunday, August 16th from 11am to 6pm.
The sale will feature artistic imperfections, artists’ 2nds, demos, studies, and overstock.
The 2-day event is a perfect time to find unique pieces that add character to your home, office or for that person who appreciates handmade artwork.
Great Opportunities at Great Prices
Shopping at a 2nds sale can be a great way to snag a lovely piece for a great price. Keep in mind that just because they're "2nds" doesn't mean they're not great pieces of art.
2nds are frequent occurrences for artists making high-end crafts especially in cases where uncontrollable elements —such as in the firing process in glass and ceramics —lead to unique creations.
Kiewit, explains: “Often, artists experiment with new techniques, glazes, cooling time, etc to create one-of-a-kind work. These studio experiments are perfectly functional and beautiful and many of the 'flaws' are really neat characteristics that the artist can’t select for a series, but are great individual treasures…totally worth collecting at good prices!”
Last year, the sale prices ranged between $2.00 and $275.00.
2-Dimensional Work Also Included
In addition to ceramic and glass, the sale will, for the first time, feature 2-dimensional artwork in photography, watercolor, pastel, oil, and fiber. For instance, Cathleen Rehfeld is an oil painting instructor and will sell demos that she painted during her classroom lessons. Similarly, pastel artist Karen Watson will have paintings available that she created as studies for larger commissions.
