A Backcountry Ski & Snowbaord Film
November 9
Presented by GorgeOutdoors.org
GorgeOutdoors.org presents the backcountry ski and snowboard film "Signatures" on Monday November 9th at 7:30 pm.
Following an entire winter deep in the hardwoods of Hokkaido, Japan, this is a work about expression and the art of riding on snow.
Ski Film and Art Film
Ski Film ...
Wild Snow calls it "replete with segments that’ll cause tele kids to salivate, fixed heelers to cheer, and snowboarders to take long meditation breaks because they’ll now be in touch with their soul."
Signatures recently beat out Matchstick Productions to win Best Cinematography at IF3, the International Freeski Film Festival.
Art Film ...
The Aspen Times says, "The film is as much about the serenity and beauty of the mountains, the filmmakers' take on Japanese visual and spiritual aesthetics, and the people they interacted with on their adventure, as it is about skiing and snowboarding. There are downhill adventures — but also surfing, landscapes and a poetic survey of the art of carving snowboards."
Come early to the theater and meet the filmmakers, Colorado-based Sweetgrass Productions, at a 7pm reception.
