The Passion of Anna
Film and Presentation
January 20 & 27, 2010

Here's an opportunity to see one of the most noteworthy films of our time, along with a rare opportunity to hear a psychoanalysis of the filmmaker and film.
About the Film
January 27th at 7:30pm
In The Passion of Anna (1968), Andreas lives alone on the island, attempting to escape memories of a checkered past and live a simple life of truth. He befriends a well off couple who also live on the island, Elis and Eva and their friend Anna. Ultimately a romantic relationship begins between Andreas and Anna, which is tested by events happening around them on the island.
This is the simple surface plot of The Passion of Anna. However underneath this plot the human condition is explored with a narrative that weaves in and out of dreamscapes and reality, and ultimately questions what the cost is of isolation vs. attachment.
