Join Bill Weihl, Green Energy Czar at Google headquarters, for a talk he will be giving about the innovative work he's doing in renewable energy.

Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 7:30 pm

This is a FREE event, made possible by the Gorge Technology Alliance, who received a Google grant to support its "Leading Edge of Technology" speakers series.

Though the event is free, due to limited seating, advance reservations are suggested. To reserve your seat in advance, contact Jessica Metta at, or call 541.296.2266.

What Weihl's Talk Will Include

Most people have remarkably little visibility into their energy usage. At the same time, studies show that giving people greater visibility can drive significant reductions in energy use.

Google PowerMeter is a software tool that provides consumers with near real-time access to their energy usage using open protocols for both data collection and data visualization. Bill will discuss where Google PowerMeter is headed and the opportunities for going beyond smart meters to integrate information from smart sensors and devices. He’ll also answer questions on the innovative work Google is pursuing in renewable energy.
