The performance in Hood River is part of the Ranbow Dance Theater's tenth season of bringing energetic and diverse styles of dance to the Pacific Northwest.
A Tour-de-Force of High-Power Dancing
Rainbow Dance Theater has a unique modern dance repertory that incorporates a variety of styles, resulting in a theatrical tour-de-force of high-power dancing and striking visual effects. It includes the:
- Raw energy of Hip Hop and Break Dance
- Pulsing rhythms of West African and Caribbean Dance
- Strength and balance of East Indian Yoga
- Lyrical grace of Classical Dance
- Company’s signature non-traditional partnering
Special Guests: Hood River Dancers
Also performing will be special dancers from the Columbia Gorge Dance Academy for several dance numbers.
Another special treat for Hood River audiences will be an appearance by Kaitlin Bauld, daughter of Hood River residents Stacy and Robert Bauld. Kaitilin grew up in Hood River and is currently a senior dance major at Western Oregon University in Monmouth. She is apprenticing with the Rainbow Dance Theatre during the 2009-10 season and will appear onstage in two of the works performed at Columbia Center for the Arts.
Tenth Anniversary
Rainbow Dance Theater's performance in Hood River is part of it's tenth anniversy season. Rainbow Dance Theater has been bringing to the Pacific Northwest its unique performance style of dance for ten years.
In addition to the performance in Hood River, RDT’s Tenth Anniversary Tour will include performances in Salem, Corvallis, Albany, and Monmouth, Oregon, and Seattle, Aberdeen, and Camas, Washington. In addition, the Artistic Directors will conduct residencies in Laramie, Wyoming, Mexico City, D.F. and San Jose, Costa Rica. A tour in China will culminate the season.
