Martha Alick was born between 1840 and 1860, and died in 1938. She lived most Martha Alickof her life near Hood River, but is believed to have been educated at the Indian boarding school at Ft. Vancouver.

Martha became well-known in the Hood River community during the later years of her life, and was generally known as "Indian Martha."
