1000 Words: Visual Arts Response to Literature

Curator: Jill Kelly
Exhibition: October 4-29
Closed
Opening Reception, October 6, 6-8pm
They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, and that is our challenge to artists in our October exhibition: bring works of literary art into the realm of the visual. Artists of all media types will use their creative energies to visually interpret their favorite novels, poems, essays, or sayings.
Jill Kelly is a Portland, Oregon poet, novelist, and painter. She works in collage, pastels, and acrylics in her home studio. Her work is in private collections in the United States and Europe. Her landscape work is inspired by the poems of Mary Oliver and the prose of Wendell Berry. Don’t miss our celebration of the written word, Hood River Word’s Fair, the weekend of October 20-22 as well!
