CCA is happy to connect you to an upcoming Zoom Art Series at The Dalles Art Center:
May 01, 10:00 AM – May 15, 12:00 PM
Join Jenny Loughmiller in a powerful workshop exploring the intersection of art and the divine/spirit/God/universe/muse. There will be three classes taking place over Zoom on Saturday, May 1st, 8th, and the 15th from 10am-12pm.
Through a series of 3 zoom calls and daily prompts, Jenny will help you create a sacred space for contemplation in which the creative act opens the door to personal revelation. Students will create a body of work from the daily practice of art and inquiry and then bind them into a book that documents the experience. This is not a “how-to” class but rather the supported space in which to explore questions and creativity. This class goes ‘deep’ but Jenny’s lighthearted teaching style makes the process fun and engaging.
An extra special bonus of this class is that our process will be documented in the June 2021 show at The Dalles Art Center – Unmute Yourself: Art of the Zoom. If this brings up feelings of vulnerability, that’s GREAT! We’ll lean into that and explore it further in class
You do not need art experience to take this class. Life experience, however, is mandatory.
Supply list will be emailed after registration.
OPTIONAL SUPPLY KIT* (recommended)
Pick up at The Dalles Art Center: $6
Shipped (Domestic only): $10
Supply kit contains:
15 sheets of 9” x 12” 135# watercolor paper
16 sheets of 4.5” x 6” 135# watercolor paper
5 sheets of deli paper
* If you have a watercolor or mixed-media paper at home that you can cut into these sizes, feel free to use that! The deli paper isn’t 100% necessary – I just love it and use it for everything. We’ll be primarily using it for the binding of the book; you could also use a lightweight fabric like a quilting cotton.
