About the Class:
Basket weaving is a craft of old, made in many forms and created in every country on this earth. We will be weaving the Twisted Bowl basket in this class. The weaving is a continuous weave around a circle spoked base. This weave is created by doing a step-up each time around the basket creating a really cool design element.
You choose your color scheme. It comes out approximately 4”-6” inches tall and 8” or so wide.
Instructor:
Christina Bush is a basket weaver and a quilter. She started weaving about 9 years ago when she wanted a mental break from working full time and going to college full time. She started sewing at an early age with her grandmother sitting at a Singer treadle machine. This love for crafting and making carried through her life as a military spouse and mother of two. A couple of years ago friends began requesting her to give classes because there were very flew places to learn this craft. So, she created Twisted Fibers Baskets and Quilts and started teaching in 2018. Chris has been in the Pacific Northwest for 14 years and teaching classes in Washington and now Oregon. You can find some of her creations on Instagram @twisted.fibers.bq or Facebook @TwistedFibersBandQ.
Registration fee:
$70 for 3-hours workshop plus $30 materials paid to artist. Material payments are paid to the artist before the beginning of class, paid via check or cash.
