Laura Buchan

Artist Bio:

LB (Laura Buchan) creates carved wood sculptures based on nature and anatomy. LB grew up outside Bozeman, MT, where the ranches, wildlife, and hunting culture they were exposed to sparked a deep interest in animals, food sources, and anatomy. Their sculptures are often amalgams that can be interpreted multiple ways, combining elements from both past and present species. Recent accomplishments include a permanent, large scale public installation at Clark College in Vancouver, WA, receiving a grant from the Allied Arts Foundation in Seattle, WA, and a recent solo show at Talon Gallery in Portland, OR. LB currently lives and works in Vancouver, WA.
