About the Artist

I am interested in: line, balance, movement, energy, humor, circles, the effects of subtle change, contrast of

line and mass, the challenge of trying new approaches, techniques and/or tools, communication.

I am inspired by: natural forms, shapes, historic jewelry, objects, challenges, art therapy concepts, life experiences, emotions, and especially the simplicity of seascapes.

My process is: design, problem solve, mock-up, problem solve, sheet, wire, wax, saw, form, cut,

shape, problem solve, solder, cold connect, fuse, cast, finish, assemble, finish, show, sell(?).

I am influenced by: Chinese art, New England style, Scandinavian design, Betty Cooke, Calder

mandalas.

I make art for: fun, control, play, amusement, experiment, to explore possibilities, to create

my own world.

I believe jewelry is wearable sculpture, drawing is communication
