- Artist Talk: Bonnie Meltzer, October 19, 4-5pm Free to the community Portland, Oregon artist Bonnie Meltzer will be talking about her environmental installation piece in the Fiber Arts show. Meltzer makes very mixed media figurative and abstract constructions which transform everyday objects, crocheted wire, digital photographs and painted wood into textured layers of social commentary, personal history and humor. The talk will take place in the Columbia Art Gallery, 215 Cascade Avenue, Hood River, OR.
- Crochet Out: October 20, 2018 11am- 4pm Open to all ages Free to the community Work together with artist Bonnie Meltzer to create and design a giant crochet sculpture with exciting materials not usually associated with crochet. The group project produces camaraderie among participants and an artistic experience for novices and experienced crocheters that is loads of fun.
