The Needs of Our Children
At a recent fundraiser for our CCA Children’s Theatre, we discussed the fundamental need children have for art in their lives. Some of our local young thespians shared with donors their deep-seated connection to the theatre arts, and how much it means to them to have access to these creative experiences.
Then I read this article by noted author Philip Pullman, and felt that Mr. Pullman has put these thoughts into beautiful words that so clearly make the case for connecting kids with art. That’s why I’m sharing this article, and hope you will read it and share with others.
“Children need art and stories and poems and music as
much as they need love and food and fresh air and play.”
by Philip Pullman
Please feel free to send me your thoughts on this any topics covered in this blog or in the world of art.
