This is a compilation of jazzy, groove-punctuated, best-poppin’ Christmas songs, some new, some familiar, all unique. This is my answer to all the ‘musical fruitcake’ that gets passed around year after year. Put a little of this under your tree instead.” Some of the songs will include First Snowfall. Do You Hear What I Hear, My You Be Well, Santa Claus is coming to Town and many more.
About the Director:
Tim Mayer began piano lessons at the age of 6. He spent two years as a jazz major but eventually earned a degree in the natural sciences. However, after completing his science degree, he embarked on a music career. After being gainfully employed (and unemployed) as a musician in the Portland area for a number of years, he decided to return to graduate school for a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering. (can you see the left brain/right brain conflict here?) He worked for 25 years as a hydrologist for the US Fish and Wildlife Service, but is now retired. He continues to practice, play, record, compose, and gig locally. He recorded a Christmas jazz CD in 2015 and has just finished a new album of original compositions and covers titled Eclectic Mojo. You can find a selection of his music at his website: timpayerpiano.com
Access details for the performance will be emailed to you once you complete registration.
