About
Art is more than expression and creativity, it is both a mirror and a catalyst for social and political change, addressing issues like injustice, inequality, and human rights.
This July, Columbia Center for the Arts invites artists to submit work for Art. Action. Community., an exhibition celebrating the power of the arts to speak to the issues we face in today's divided times, to be a force of action and hope, and both self- and community-care. Works can respond to local or global challenges, but we ask that submissions focus on values and actions rather than specific political candidates or parties.
Each participating artist will also be asked to select a local/regional nonprofit that they would like to support and have mentioned alongside their work. Columbia Arts will split a portion of proceeds from each sale to the nonprofit chosen by the artist — offering a way for creative expression to directly support community action.
More details and submissions will come in May 2025. Sign up for our artist newsletter for updates.
