VOLUNTEER SCHEDULE

Position Title: Operations & Engagement Coordinator
Organization: Columbia Center for the Arts
Location: Hood River, OR (primarily on-site work)
Hours: Part-time (15-20 hours/week), with potential for growth. Regular evenings and weekends required.
Reports to: Executive Director
Compensation: $20-$24/hr

About Columbia Center for the Arts
Columbia Center for the Arts (CCA) is a nonprofit arts center in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge. We present year-round programming in visual arts, performing arts, and education. As we celebrate our 20th anniversary in 2025, we’re expanding our small team to support the next chapter of creative community building.
Position Overview
The Operations & Engagement Coordinator will play a key role across all programs, helping to keep the Center running smoothly while building relationships with volunteers, audiences, artists, and community partners. This is a hands-on, people-facing role that combines administrative coordination, communications, and event/program support.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working across a wide range of projects, is highly organized, and thrives in a mission-driven, creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Administration

Provide general administrative support to the Executive Director and programs team

Maintain office and gallery supplies, equipment, and shared calendars

Assist with scheduling, data entry, and internal communication systems

Help maintain organizational records, forms, and files
-
Oversee volunteer coordination and scheduling
Engagement & Communication
-
Greet and assist gallery visitors, program attendees, and community members
-
Help manage email newsletters, event listings, and social media content
-
Maintain mailing lists and contact databases (including NeonCRM)

Coordinate and support outreach to artists, educators, donors, and community partners
-
Represent CCA at events, programs, and community functions as needed
Program Support

Assist with gallery installations and theater/event prep

Support setup and breakdown of events, classes, and programs
-
Communicate with artists, curators, and teaching artists as needed
-
Help monitor and track visitor engagement and program participation
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

Comfort with technology: Google Workspace, spreadsheets, POS Systems, social media, CRM systems…

Interest in arts, community engagement, and nonprofit work

Spanish language skills a plus
-
Ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs and support event setup/takedown
