Columbia Arts presents the hilarious holiday comedy Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells in December 2025. 

Junie B. Jones, First-Grader, is super-excited about the upcoming Holiday Sing-Along and Secret Santa gift exchange at her school. Too bad tattletale May keeps ruining all of Junie B.'s fun. So when Junie B. draws May's name for Secret Santa, she comes up with the perfect plan to teach her nemesis a lesson! But will the Christmas spirit of peace and goodwill interfere before she can give you-know-who what she deserves? A hilarious and endearing tale based on the best-selling book series by Barbara Park.


Auditions will be Monday Sept. 29th from 6-8:30pm and Saturday Oct. 4th from 1-4pm Callbacks if needed will be Tuesday Oct. 7th

** Please note that there are 8 performances scheduled between 12/5 and 12/15

 Two of the shows are a Friday matinee at 10:00am and are designed for schools

There is also an evening show on those same Friday’s. Please plan that into your scheduling when auditioning and committing to the performances.


Parts are available for 4 Women, 6 Men and  6 non speaking roles, any gender.

Age range requirements: 12 years through adult.

Even though Junie B and her classmates are in first grade, the actors in the play will be older students and adults who can play a younger child with believably.

Junie B.: First grader

May: classmate

Mr. Scary: teacher

Herb: Junie. B.’s best friend

Grampa Miller: Junie B.’s Grampa

Lucille: rich kid

Elf Ellen: a volunteer parent

Jose: classmate

Mr. Toot: Choral teacher

Sheldon: classmate

Phillip Johnny Bob: stuffed elephant


Additional actors with non-speaking roles include:

Other students in the classroom.

Depending on casting some roles could be doubled
