About
This summer, young singers of all experience levels are invited to join Choir Camp with music director and vocal coach Duncan Krummel. In three age-based tracks, they'll explore vocal technique, music theory, poetry, and performance in a supportive, creative environment.
Led by Duncan Krummel, a vocal coach and music director, choristers learn proper vocal technique, theory and analysis, poetry analysis, and artistic expression in one of three performance sessions, grouped by age.
Ages 6 - 9: Weekdays from July 28 - Aug 1 from 10am - 12pm. Performance on Aug 2.
A one week track introduces young voices to 2-part treble singing, building confidence and healthy vocal habits and ending with the performance of 2 new choral works.
Ages 10-13: Weekdays from July 21 - Aug 1 from 12pm - 2pm. Performance on August 2.
For ages 10-13, a two week track adds deeper learning with topics such as solfège and conducting skills, and ends with the performance of 3 new choral works.
Ages 14-18: Weekdays from July 14 - Aug 1 from 2pm - 4pm. Performance on August 2.
For ages 14-18, a three week track continues to build upon a solid foundation of teaching with more in depth analysis of poetry and discussions on form and analysis, and ends with the performance of 3-4 new choral works.
The final performances on 8/2 will include an open discussion with the audience afterwards to answer questions and allow the students to share their own insights into their newfound knowledge and interpretations of the music and texts.
Registration closes on June 29th or when classes fill.
