About
FLOW is a feature documentary about women who move through the world on water, rock, and air...and what they carry with them when they do.
About the Film
This powerful independent documentary explores the lives of women in adventure sports — sharing stories that challenge stereotypes, confront systemic barriers, and foster connection across cultures through a transcultural feminist lens.
Directed by Czech filmmaker Honza Považan and produced by Victoria-based Grace Gorman, FLOW blends breathtaking cinematography with intimate storytelling, following women in whitewater kayaking, climbing, and highlining. From the Czech sandstone towers to the cliffs of the Indian Himalayas, and from the rapids of the Amazon to the rivers, rock, and sky of Canada, FLOW explores how women navigate and overcome challenges tied to gender, race, class, and sexual identity in their sports.
Building on the mission of the companion book, FLOW translates written and photographic work into a dynamic visual experience and a celebration of the power, resilience, and connection of women in adventure sports. About the Premiere
Creators and co-producers of the project, Denisa Krásná and Alena Rainsberry, will be present the film in person! Their book, Flow: Women’s Counternarratives from Rivers, Rock, and Sky, will be available for purchase. A 15-minute Q&A session with the producers will take place after the screening, followed by book signing.
