About the Film

Off-off-off-off-off-Broadway director Corky St. Clair (Christopher Guest) arrives in the small town of Blaine, Missouri, to stage a musical chronicling the town’s history in time for its 150th anniversary. Corky corrals a lovable cast of amateurish yet wildly committed locals—including dentist Dr. Allan Pearl (Eugene Levy), travel agents Ron and Sheila Albertson (Fred Willard and Catherine O’Hara), and Dairy Queen hostess Libby Mae Brown (Parker Posey)—to bring Red, White and Blaine to life. When word spreads that esteemed New York talent scout Mort Guffman will be in the audience, Corky starts to believe all his Broadway dreams might just come true.
